ARTICLE II.
2.1 MEMBERSHIP: The following shall be eligible for membership as
voting members in the Association: Judicial Assistants/Secretaries
holding appointments by United States Bankruptcy Judges.
2.2 ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP: Associate
membership may be retained by any member in good standing upon the
member’s leaving the employment as a Judicial Assistant/Secretary to
a bankruptcy judge, or may be granted to any lay person other than a
Judicial Assistant/Secretary who has passed the certification exam
administered by the Association of Bankruptcy Judicial Assistants.
Such members shall have no right to vote or hold office, and shall
pay the same annual dues as other members.
Certification Program
The Certified
Bankruptcy Assistant (CBA) Program provides a general background
in bankruptcy law and enhances writing skills for individuals in their
career as a professional bankruptcy assistant. Successful
completion of the Program will enhance your knowledge base and qualifications for private or
public employment in the bankruptcy field.
The Program and its
certification are not designed or intended to qualify individuals to
practice law, sign ANY LEGAL documents, and/or teach
the course materials to anyone else for any purpose.
